QUAD - December 2010British Supermoto Championship 6th NovemberFINAL ROUND Cadwell Park, Lincolnshire The weather was the best it could be for early November, with heavy rain having fallen overnight, leaving a slippery and greasy track and lots of damp patches under the trees. It took four laps for Mike Taylor to find a way past a fast Aaron Ebbitt. Once past, he set off after the flying Justin Reid and, as they started the last lap, Taylor was all over the back of Reid. With three corners to go, he found a way past to snatch the lead and the win by just over a quarter of a second, from Reid, with Ebbitt one-second behind, and Cathal McCarten in fourth. In race two, Reid got his second holeshot, with a charging pack behind him. Taylor set off after the flying Irishman but Reid did just enough to take his first win of the day, with Taylor crossing the line half a second behind him, and Ebbitt taking a well-deserved and close third. Craig Kilner and Niall McDermott fought it out for fourth place for most of the race. Towards the end, Mat Lawry separated the pair, taking fifth as Kilner only just held onto fourth. With the sun getting low in the sky, Reid got the last holeshot of the year, from Ebbitt and Lawry. Taylor was back in ninth, leaving himself a lot of work to do. Neatly, after passing two on lap one, Taylor passed one of his competitors each lap for five further laps. With Ebbitt dropping by the wayside after a daring move into the chicane section, Taylor was up to second and closing on Reid. McCarten passed Lawry for third with an excellent piece of riding. Reid took his second win of the day, after Taylor failed to find a way past. McCarten crossed the line in a hard-earned third, with Lawry fourth. Reid won the overall but Taylor came home second overall, clinching this year's British Supermoto Quad Championship. FINAL CHAMPIONSHIP STANDINGS Open Class 1. Mike Taylor (2,072 pts), 2.
