Dirt 3-2-1 Biggest event of the season??
IF you are looking for something to do to celebrate the schools breaking up for summer, or just want to get involved in a brilliant new event this July, then look no further because we have got THE event for you happening on July 17/18/19.
In partnership with the permanent race and practice venue FatCat Moto Parc at Armthorpe in Yorkshire, T+MX and our sister monthly publication, Dirt Bike Rider, will be hosting a festival of off-road activities we’re calling Dirt 3-2-1 (3 days, 2 wheels, 1 passion).
Essentially Dirt 3-2-1 is an excellent opportunity for the off-road community to come together and enjoy a few days in the dirt. The three day event (Friday/ Saturday/ Sunday) will offer regular riders the chance to compete in motocross, supercross and extreme endurocross competitions as well as practice with the pros, check out the trade village and enjoy our other attractions such as fairground rides, racing simulators and the like.
But it’s not just an event for people who are already off-road enthusiasts, because we’re offering new people to the sport the opportunity to give motocross a go in 'Try Our Sport' sessions that will be happening throughout the full weekend of the event where participants aged from six to 60 can get fully kitted-up and safely enjoy motocross for the first time on a separate and dedicated beginner-friendly circuit.
Running alongside the 'Try Our Sport' sessions on Friday will be a ‘Practice with the Pros’ day where a selection of professional riders will be on hand to offer tips and advice as well as burn a few hot laps themselves.
Practice sessions on FatCat’s practice circuit will continue to run throughout the weekend for riders who have their own bike and fancy a day out at this popular practice facility.
Saturday sees the first of our competitive events – the ladies trial, supercross and extreme endurocross events that will be held in the Dirt 3-2-1 arena.
The supercross races for youth and adult racers will be a series of heats and finals that will ensure everybody gets plenty of track time on a safe supercross-style circuit.
The main finals of the SX event will run alongside the evening’s main event – the Extreme Endurocross.
Between the Supercross qualifying rounds and the Extreme Endurocross will be an invitation only ladies trial starring our very own Youth Editor, Beth Hoggarth, who’ll be taking on some of the country’s leading female feet-up stars on her Beta. It is planned that the trial will take in four laps of ten sections set around the FatCat facility.
Pro entries for the Extreme Endurocross are coming in thick and fast and the floodlit race is set to be an epic as riders battle it out for big prize money on this purpose-built course. With the evening racing expected to go on late into the night, the party atmosphere should increase along with the on-track tension.
On the final day of Dirt 3-2-1, our motocross race event will take place for youth and adult racers. With plenty of prize-money and trophies on offer we’re hoping for full line-ups in all classes – details of these will be available soon.
Entrance to the event is purposefully dirt cheap for spectators with admission on Saturday and Sunday’s race days costing a measly £5 per person with accompanied under 10-year-olds gaining free admission.
For those who wish to visit the Dirt 3-2-1 festival as a spectator on the Friday it’s a totally free day out so there’s no reason for you not to come along!
FatCat Moto Parc is situated just off Junction 4 of the M18 in South Yorkshire so it’s easy as pie to find – and worth travelling to.
More details for riders and racers who are keen to participate at Dirt 3-2-1 will be available soon.
We’ll be bringing you regular updates here on our website... JUST REMEMBER – Dirt 3-2-1, a great weeken whichever way you look at it!.
